Saltgrass Steak House Review (2026)

A good steak can give us a reason to return to a restaurant, even when the overall experience has a few rough edges. That sums up our recent visit to Saltgrass Steak House. The restaurant was clean, the steak was delicious, and the ribs were okay. The service experience, however, included an unexpected server change and more attention to a loyalty program than we wanted.

Our server changed during the visit, which felt odd. It left us wondering what happened and made the service feel a little disjointed. It wasn’t enough to ruin dinner, but it was a noticeable interruption. Both servers we had during our visit were friendly, and we appreciated the welcoming attitude from each of them. Their friendliness was a positive part of the meal and deserves recognition. More annoying was being pitched the Landry’s Select Club loyalty program twice. We understand that restaurants want to promote their programs, but hearing the sales pitch once was enough. Bringing it up again became an unwelcome distraction. We came to enjoy a meal, and repeated attempts to sell a membership took away from that experience.
The ribs were acceptable, though a little overcooked. The barbecue sauce was decent, but it didn’t particularly stand out. For our tastes, Famous Dave’s barbecue sauce is better by far. These ribs weren’t a complete disappointment, but they also weren’t the highlight of the table.

That distinction belonged to the steak. It was cooked perfectly, moist, and delicious—the strongest part of the meal and the best reason to give Saltgrass another visit. When a steakhouse gets its namesake dish right, that carries weight.

We also appreciated that the restaurant was clean. Despite a few frustrations, our experience left us willing to return at some point. Next time, we would welcome the same quality steak with a smoother service experience and fewer loyalty program pitches.
